Tiger Trail Podcast: 30 Years of Community Celebration

Tiger Trail Festival, Inc.:
Unity Through Heritage
Pompano Beach, Florida
Est. 1995

Our Roots
Founded by the Blanche Ely High School Class of 1970 — a group of African Americans who grew up under segregation in Pompano Beach. Barred from shared schools, churches, beaches, and public spaces, they witnessed racial barriers gradually fall in their community.

Our Journey In 1995, these pioneers launched the Tiger Trail Festival to transform struggle into celebration. What began as an homage to empowerment themes (Black Power, Fight the Power, Push Forward) evolved into a timeless mission: fostering unity through diversity. Our Spirit Today While honoring the past, the festival now centers on inclusion and gratitude. Recognizing that progress required solidarity across racial lines — including pivotal support from white allies — Tiger Trail celebrates how far Pompano Beach has come together. Our Legacy Every February, we host community events that: ✅ Showcase African American heritage ✅ Bridge cultural divides ✅ Honor those who stood beside us ✅ Inspire the next generation of unity Key Themes Highlighted: 1970s-90's Past Emphasis Black Power Fight the Power Protest & Resilience Today’s Core Values: 2000's- Present... Gratitude Inclusion Self-Determination Shared Progress Cross-Cultural Unity "We rise by lifting others — and acknowledging those who lifted us."

One Love. One Peace. One Tiger Trail.
